Dr. Nguyen Huy Chuong: Institute for Digital Knowledge Research and Development was established on December 5, 2022 according to Decision No. 37/QD – HH-VTT of the President of the Association of Vietnam Universities and Colleges. For nearly a year, the Institute has supported universities and colleges nationwide to participate in the Digital Knowledge Connection Center (Shared digital library for universities and colleges). Up to now, there have been 63 member units participating in connecting and sharing information resources on the Digital Knowledge Connection Center (62 university and college libraries and 01 Lam Dong Provincial Library).

Dr. Nguyen Huy Chuong: Established in the post-Covid-19 period, the Institute for Digital Knowledge Research and Development (IDK) under the leadership of the Institute’s Board of Directors always recognizes digital transformation as an essential and important work. The Institute always strives to operate in accordance with the original principles and purposes of researching and providing organizational solutions, connecting information and knowledge resources in university and college libraries, and moving forward. are sources of information and knowledge in community organizations both domestically and internationally.
Talking about advantages, the Institute is always created by the Association of Vietnam Universities and Colleges as well as organizations and departments to contact, exchange and learn from other units and organizations. Universities, colleges and public libraries do not fully understand how the Shared Digital Library works, leading to them not being very excited and actively participating in sharing digital resources on the Link Center. Connect Digital Knowledge.
Many universities and colleges have not paid proper attention to libraries, leading to the library not having enough infrastructure and software to manage and share digital resources.
The Institute also has difficulty finding funding sources to research and develop management software, share full-text digital resources, and organize large-scale seminars and training sessions to widely disseminate knowledge. The Institute’s biggest difficulty is not finding operating funds (currently, school libraries are supported to connect to the Digital Knowledge Connection Center for free). The Institute will register to submit applications to participate in State-level and ministerial-level projects related to knowledge management and sharing, copyright and intellectual property, and open educational resources.
We have also prepared and will proceed to deploy training courses related to knowledge management and library science.
